Taste Alberta Round Table 2020

We’ve brought some amazing Alberta women together over a homemade, local lunch to discuss their thoughts on food and farming in Alberta, and pulled together this 5 minute video.

As farmers, chefs, executives and entrepreneurs, these women consider an important part of being an Albertan Woman to include advocacy for local food. There is a sense of pride in cooking meals that use ingredients from our own backyards.

They understand that optimal quality and freshness comes with lessening the travel time between the food source and your plate, and that buying locally sourced foods produced in Alberta is an easy way to achieve that.

Perhaps more importantly, they understand that food has the ability to connect people. Food brings people together, and shopping local provides opportunity for consumers to connect directly with the farmers that produce your food.

Watch the full Video to hear more about how these women are supporting local food and farming in Alberta, and why it matters to them.
